The Membership Problem for Quadratic Modules
نویسنده
چکیده
We prove that the Membership Problem is solvable affirmatively for every finitely generated quadratic module Q of R[X1]. For the case that the associated semialgebraic set S is bounded we show that a polynomial f is an element of Q if and only if f is nonnegative on S and fulfills certain order conditions in the boundary points of S. This leads us to the definition of generalized natural generators of Q and an algorithm which produces at most three generators of Q.

FGP approach to multi objective quadratic fractional programming problem
Multi objective quadratic fractional programming (MOQFP) problem involves optimization of several objective functions in the form of a ratio of numerator and denominator functions which involve both contains linear and quadratic forms with the assumption that the set of feasible solutions is a convex polyhedral with a nite number of extreme points and the denominator part of each of the objecti...
متن کاملQuadratic bi-level programming problems: a fuzzy goal programming approach
This paper presents a fuzzy goal programming (FGP) methodology for solving bi-level quadratic programming (BLQP) problems. In the FGP model formulation, firstly the objectives are transformed into fuzzy goals (membership functions) by means of assigning an aspiration level to each of them, and suitable membership function is defined for each objectives, and also the membership functions for vec...
متن کاملStability of Quadratic Modules
A finitely generated quadratic module or preordering in the real polynomial ring is called stable, if it admits a certain degree bound on the sums of squares in the representation of polynomials. Stability, first defined explicitly in [PS], is a very useful property. It often implies that the quadratic module is closed; furthermore it helps settling the Moment Problem, solves the Membership Pro...
متن کاملAn iterative method for tri-level quadratic fractional programming problems using fuzzy goal programming approach
Tri-level optimization problems are optimization problems with three nested hierarchical structures, where in most cases conflicting objectives are set at each level of hierarchy. Such problems are common in management, engineering designs and in decision making situations in general, and are known to be strongly NP-hard. Existing solution methods lack universality in solving these types of pro...

This paper presents fuzzy goal programming approach for solving multiobjective quadratic programming problem. The problem deals with a decisionmaking unit with multiple objective functions, which are quadratic in nature and the system constraints are linear functions. In the proposed approach, we first formulate the quadratic membership functions by determining best solution of the objective fu...
